Image via WikipediaI’m not going to vote for Obama, here’s a couple vague reasons why. 1) He’s only been in the Senate for a short time. This makes me think someone is propping him up to run as a figure head. Call me rascist, but I think who ever is propping him up may think it has something to do with the color of his skin and the national pasttime of looking at the cover and not reading the pages. 2) His voting record really isn’t as great as what he talks about in his speaches. He voted for FISA and Iraq. 3) Democrats = socialism in the name of victim hood.
I’m definitely not going to vote for McCain, here’s a couple reasons why. 1) He’s a soldier. In my cursory remembrance of US history, most of our worst presidents were war heros. I’m specifically thinking of the Grant administration. 2) His voting record is probably worse than Obama. He misses more votes than he casts and when he does cast, he actually tries to think about the repurcussions, which brings me to 3) He’s an idiot. He graduated near last in his class, thinks important issues that he isn’t up-to-speed on are funny and still thinks that Czechoslovakia exists.
In fact, with all the grumbling I do, I’d make a good case that the government should be overthrown for being criminals and not being subject to the laws they create and generally ignoring the will of the people. But I digress. I feel like my first two paragraphs were pretty good and I’m neither judge nor jury, just a humble subject, so I won’t go on.

I think the idea that he’s being propped up because he’s black is absolutely ludicrous, unfounded nonsense. Why in God’s name, in a country where people who agree with many of his policies would never vote for him because of the color of his skin, would some evil genius install him as a puppet? And really, picking someone with the middle name Hussein - pure brilliance. A regular Karl Rove must be running the show. (Oh but did you hear he’s a Muslim who will turn over the keys to the White House to the highest bidding Al-Qaeda member?)
He graduated first in his class from Harvard Law, and he didn’t get in because of a trust fund or legacy. And he didn’t pass because his name was Bush (or McCain). He’s actually an intelligent, thoughtful person who surrounds himself with intelligent people with whom he would generally agree and others with whom he would generally disagree, just to have all perspectives.
But I’ll grant you this - he’s a politician, and just like any politician, he can be a man of pragmatic expedience when it suits him. You don’t get elected if you’re not. I don’t like it either, but that’s how it goes.
And I don’t agree with everything in his voting record or every one of his positions. When I find a politician who believes everything I do, I’ll be sure to vote for myself.
And as for point 3), we’ve had enough conversations about libertarianism versus liberalism at this point. But you know where I stand.
I agree with most of the second and third paragraphs. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad ;-).
